Real Estate: A week in review

This has been a really good week of real estate! My highlight is this adorable photo emailed to me by some of my favorite recent buyers:Monday a meeting with some clients who own a restaurant led to looking for a location for a second concept. Despite feeling pretty "on the pulse" of the Charleston commercial market, upper King still amazes me, it was fun to tour some of the new projects and hear about investors turning down 10 million dollar purchase offers, and rents escalating to $40 per square foot.On Tuesday I showed a home South of Broad in downtown Charleston to a family with children and a dog who live on Folly but have become exhausted by the commute.Thursday included meeting with a potential new client and touring a amazing modern home in my fav neighborhood Cannonborough ElliotboroughOn Friday I showed commercial space in South Windemere shopping center to a young entreprenuer with an exciting concept with one location we found together last year in Mt. Pleasant who is already excited to expand to a second. Loved the location just across the bridge in West Ashley but ouch, again super high price per square foot.Charleston real estate market remains for now at least the little engine that can! Another weekly highlight is this weeks NY Times article 36 Hours in Charleston which features this lovely map and a tour of the areas North of Calhoun St that comprise what is now the real Charleston SC! I capped a lovely week with meeting a nice lady from France today at Rue de Jean for lunch and afterwards showing her a couple of potential spaces downtown for her new art gallery. A thousand mundane details left out and this was a week in Charleston Real Estate.
