New Downtown Infill Development between the Citadel and MUSC

Have you ever driven past the beautiful Brittle Bank Park, past the DMV and MUSC, and wondered about the no man's land between the Citadel and MUSC. Well,. so have I and I recently got some excellent news from our neighborhood president. The SCRA and the City of Charleston envision a new model for a research-oriented urban infill project with Project HORIZON. The project, called a bio tech research hub will encompass all the elements to stimulate and accent the neighborhood. Job creation, residential homes, retail space and office space will all be incorporated in the huge project. Most exciting of all for those of us who inhabit the upper penninsula: A GROCERY STORE!!! Hit the following link for further info: http://www.charleston-sc.gov/shared/docs/0/horizon%20tif.pdf• Bio-Tech Research Center and Incubator facilities• Commercial Mixed-Use, including retail and office• Residential, including rental and home ownership• Urban spaces, recreational facilities and parks• Infrastructure, including streets, utilities and drainage
