Elliotbourough coffee shop wins prestigious Carolopolis Award

Last week Hope and Union coffee shop on Saint Philip St became the proud recipient of the Carolopolis Award.  The Charleston Preservation Society gives out the plaque, now prominently ensconced on the front of the building, to deserving individuals who painstakingly restore and resurrect buildings which have been identified as part of the city's historic fabric.  The medal, a reproduction of the city's seal has been awarded to select recipients since 1959, when the Preservation Society established the ground rules for eligibility.  To find out more about this award and the Preservation Society click here.  Drop by Hope and Union at 199 Saint Philip St. between Spring and Cannon to admire their award, and while your at it, try a cup of chai, it is the best in town.Carolopolis award granted to Elliotborough's hope and union coffee shopCarolopolis award granted to Elliotborough's hope and union coffee shoCarolopolis award granted to Elliotborough's hope and union coffee sho
