His mentors include Daniel Greene, Eric Eisenberger, John Koch, and Robert Brachman. Over 200 of William McCullough's realist oil paintings are In significant private, corporate and museum collections throughout the United States. McCullough's current paintings are still lifes and landscapes exploring the everyday life and culture of the American South. He lives on a family farm outside of Kingstree South Carolina and also in the South of France. There is a sensuality found in the South Carolina landscape that is incredibly unique. After spending many years in the Northeast learning to paint, I was eager to return to the South and paint the land that is my home.
